A concept for a summer house in Telemark, Norway. Instead of collecting the rooms in one building, the house is divided into three free-standing elements which are distributed in the terrain to make best use of the site's qualities. On the highest part of the site is placed a cabin with 3 levels which towers amongst the trees. The cabin has a powerful vertical expression amongst the tree crowns. On a flatter part of the site to the east, the guest house is placed. The house's edges appear as apparent horizontal lines in comparison to the surrounding forest. The two cabins are connected with a productive garden and outdoor area that weaves itself into the forest floor with sculptural terrain walls.
